The EV14 scan engine is based on a linear CMOS sensor using state-of-the-art Active Pixel Sensor (APS) technology. It’s designed for your OEM applications in space-constrained portable and fixed devices.
Featuring the latest generation of Honeywell scanning algorithms, the EV14 scan engine provides you with a high scan rate and depth of field. That makes it possible to read poorly printed, damaged, low contrast, wide or high-density barcodes. And to meet the growing demand for e-couponing, virtual loyalty cards and access control applications, the EV14 scan engine is also capable of reading barcodes displayed on LCD or mobile phone screens.
The EV14 scan engine provides easy electrical interfacing. The 3.3V low power operation is ideal for preserving battery life in mobile applications. And the standby current is reduced to micro amps to preserve the host device’s battery when the scan engine is not in use.
We also designed the EV14 scan engine to be very reliable – there are no moving parts and no laser diode. With an MTBF above 250,000 hours, the EV14 engine has a longer life than typical laser scanners. And thanks to its rugged design, the EV14 scan engine can withstand 2000 G shocks and 8 G vibrations, and operates in a wide temperature range.
